Day 3: the Event

the actual event was held at 4pm so we had discussions with different disciplines throughtout the morning and early part of the afternoon.

the first block laid. This block carries part of the engine room.

Siti and Me!

This is where they will lay the keel.. You would think that they just place the bed saja2 but no.. those tiny blocks where the keel sits is strategically placed there to ensure that the weight of the vessel is well supported.

This is when 2 of the blocks are placed next to each other

Then the DSME guys weld the two block together

then two blocks become one!

This thing is called a transporter! It basically moves the blocks from one side of the shipyard to another. I find it COOL! (GEEK! haha)
This is the transporter in action. the wheels can move 360 degrees yaww! Cool kan? (again, a GEEK!)
